We’re here to set the record straight on waterproof gear. We’ve gone through all of it – from Amazon, big box stores, small retailers, and specialized brands. We’ve found duds, superstars, underappreciated brands, and some head-scratchingly bogus stuff that’s not even anywhere remotely near waterproof. As human beings (yes, we’ll start there, because we want you to know that none of the articles on Fully Waterproof are written by robots, AI, or ChatGPT), we need waterproof gear to safeguard our electronics, clothing, and other equipment, and that’s why we created this site.
We love water
We love water, but we also love keeping our things dry. So in combination with universal IP (Ingress Protection) ratings, we’ve developed a system to apply IP ratings to real-world situations, such as our “Puddle Test” for calling our waterproof sneakers. Going a step further, we take into account durability, build quality, corrosion resistance, fit, functionality, and value when evaluating gear.
