When It Needs to Be Fully Waterproof
We Test It
They can say what they want, but unless it holds up to our tests, it's not Fully Waterproof. Read about our testing process.
We Review It
In addition to waterproof testing, we take into account other features of each product, such as fit, materials, quality, and capabilities.
We Compare It
Ultimately, we put every product side-by-side in list format so you can easily see which product is best for your purpose.

What are IP Ratings?
IP Ratings ExplainedThey're not as complicated as you think.
IPX5
Short rainstorms and occasional splashes of water. You need IPX5 if things stay relatively dry, maybe with some sweat from a workout or a splash from a puddle.
IPX6
Large splashes, sprays of water, or heavy rain. You need IPX6 if you're expecting wet conditions, without the potential for submersion.
IP67
Long periods of torrential rain, or submersion (up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes). You need IP67 (sometimes IPX7) if you're spending time out on the water or if you anticipate heavy storms.
IP68
We're going swimming – IP68 (sometimes IPX8) is submersion over 1 meter for 30+ minutes. You need IP68 if you spend the majority of your time in/around water.
